Principal's Welcome
Dear Proud Families,
Here at Our Lady of Guadalupe, we strive to create a learning environment that is "humanly and spiritually rich, one that exudes a common spirit of trust and spontaneity." (Congregation on Catholic Education, 1998) The creation and diligent maintenance of a nurturing learning community have a great deal to do with how effective our educational program is for your children.
We at OLG believe that the Catholic educator is a community-builder. Our teachers believe that there is a strong correlation between successful learning and community-centered environments. Our educators welcome the challenge of recognizing students' diverse learning styles, providing a positive and safe learning environment, and attending to teacher-student and student-student relationships and communication.
Continually we hear from you, our proud OLG families, that it is the feeling of community which draws and binds you to Our Lady of Guadalupe School. In our continued efforts to provide such an environment, partnership is essential. We must build on existing home-school connections and together, forge new and more powerful ones.
As we begin to look toward the 2007-2008 school year, let us continue to work together in our endeavors, striving toward the ideal where every adult's gifts combine to assist the unique gifts that each child possesses, and where every student is enriched because of his or her experience here at OLG.
The blessings that we enjoy in this community are many. To those parents and guardians currently a part of our OLG family: Thank you most sincerely for being part of our school community, enriching us with your presence, and for your efforts on behalf of our students. To those parents and guardians new to Our Lady of Guadalupe: We welcome you.
Blessings,
Cordelia Kinney
